U.S. resident Gilberto Munoz opted from stem cell therapy after he sustained injuries in his spinal disc (the jelly like cartilage in-between the vertebral bones). The resulting symptoms included back pain, pain in his lower back and numbness down in his left leg, foot, and toes. These conditions prevented him from performing his job, which is shoeing horses.

“I [had] collapsed, and I[had] pain down my legs, especially my left leg, numbness and pain down to my feet,” he said, recalling his condition before being treated at ASCI.

The symptoms limited his physical activity. He could no longer do any lifting, jogging, running or other strenuous and complex movements.

One child’s journey out of autism

Shawn and Brad Tidwell of Alaska, USA, like all parents, wanted to teach their 5-year-old son Caleb so much about the world. They eagerly awaited his progress each day, having fun and learning just like other children. So it was both with shock and emotional distress that they received the news that he had autism.

Autism Spectrum Disorder or Autism occurs when the brain develops in unusual way, making it hard for autistic person to have a sense of the world. Kids with autism have trouble in learning the meaning of words.

Mr. Puyat: Since 1957 I have been involved in management of various forms of enterprises. In 2003, when I was scheduled district governor of district 3800. Incidentally I joined my rotary club, in the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong on 1981 when my late father Senate President Gil Puyat died.

During the beginning of this year, when I encountered bladder and prostate gland problems which hospitalized me for a couple of days which hospitalized me for a couple of days. And then just before the end of the month I was again hospitalized because I had passed out. Luckily there was no problem with my heart, no problem with my brain. However, these occurrences put in doubt my continued activity in Rotary (Club). Luckily, my daughter-in-law, Dr. Cristina Alcaraz-Puyat, had opportunities to visit me during my hospitalization and review my medical chart. She found out that I have problems with my heart, kidney, and with diabetes.

Lady Doctor: Sharp, sharp, and this is dull.

Doug Prather: Okay.

Lady Doctor: Ready? Tell me if you feel sharp, dull, or nothing, okay.

Doug Prather: Okay. That feels dull.

Other guy: So there's no movement? So if we can get some movement down there. If I can get some movement there... I can do therapy

Injured guy: Obviously you got spinal cord damage and they're telling me that you're probably going to be in a wheel chair for the rest of your life. There ain't no way, I ain't gonna be in a wheel chair for the rest of my life. I ain't gonna settle for it, you know? I travelled from Modesto, California to the facility here, close to Manila in the Philippines. I've been real happy that I came ever since I got off the airplane, somebody from the stem cell institute here, met me at the airport and took me to my hotel.
